One of our more recent projects has been to manufacture guarding for all the pump stations dotted around Christchurch and its surrounding suburbs — and this got us thinking.
Many of the products we use in our daily lives may seem simple enough, but they are actually the product of a complex and technical manufacturing and supply process. A large number of these processes will involve the use of highly engineered machinery that must be maintained and operated by experienced and certified personnel.
When using these machines, strict and sophisticated safety guidelines need to be followed, and safety equipment such as protective clothing and machine guards must be used to protect both the operator and those around them. But while our favourite products are being produced, who is producing this safety equipment?
Albert Jagger have been manufacturing bespoke machinery guarding solutions since the 80’s. Based in Woolston, Christchurch, our guards have been supplied all over the country and abroad as part of conveyors in the food industry, full shielding for pumps in pump stations, machinery guarding for sawmills, distance guarding for commercial machinery and in many, many other situations. We understand that there is very rarely an off-the-shelf solution to effective and user-friendly guarding, which is why we treat every situation on its own merit and design a solution accordingly.
